We’re looking for a full-time, staff Materials Management Supervisor to join our American Ordnance team located in Middletown, Iowa
Summary:
This position is designed to support the internal customers and act as the single point of contact with the internal material planners, buyers, operations & finance, developing processes and services to meet and exceed site and customer expectations. This role will use knowledge, experience and good communication to mitigate risk and ensure successful completion of all tasks assigned.
As the Supervisor, Materials Manager, here’s the work you’ll do:
  • Production Planning - Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive planning/category strategy for parts, commodities and services as related to the business unit and stakeholders. Participate in sourcing strategies in support of business objectives. Material planning management, inventory management & supply chain knowledge is essential.
  • Inventory Readiness - accountable to ensure inventory levels & assets are managed to support site business model, program inventory levels, days on hand, inventory turns. Ability to translate & project inventory levels in support of forecasting requirements and actions required to meet goals.
  • Supplier/Planner Relationship Management - As assigned, responsible for the strategic direction and effective management of suppliers, develop best value supplier as it relates to site & corporate business models.
  • Planner Performance Management - Develop quarterly scorecards by maintaining history/supportive data for continuous improvement for quality, cost and delivery objectives in addition to maintaining good working relationship with suppliers.
  • Knowledge Management - Serve as SME(Subject Matter Expert) for ongoing markets in assigned areas and responsible for understanding markets, pricing trends, benchmark trends and indicators; Develop cost analysis and buying recommendations based on industry trends; Understand regulatory requirements with respect to DoD, ITAR, ATF and HSE requirements. MRP/ERP systems knowledge with ability to manage input complexity and utilize best practices in planning, scheduling & data interchange within the supply base.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Detailed level of SAP/ERP Systems knowledge.
  • Ability to understand lead-times, time fences, MRP processes.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously and capacity to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Clear thinker and ability to influence others and having diversity of thought. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Product knowledge in the components, processing of those components and overall material processing plant wide.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or related fields
  • 5 - 8 yrs of procurement and/or strategic sourcing experience
  • Training or certifications in any APICS, CPM, CPIM, CPSM or supply chain related
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP systems & BOM structures
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $82,000 to $123,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
