Dawson Forest Animal Hospital in Dawsonville, GA is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a growing small animal hospital and offer the very best care to our patients and their people including in-house stem cell, ultrasound, echocardiogram and orthopedics. We also provide general health check-ups and other general practice appointments, as well as emergency care during our business hours.

We are looking for long term employees who will understand the ever-changing dynamic within a veterinary hospital. Flexibility is key, as we are willing to work with most schedules as long as our employees are willing to do the same. Some Saturdays and holidays are required.

We offer high-quality small animal veterinary wellness and sick care, surgery, and dentistry as well as boarding and grooming services.

Veterinary technicians and assistants must have a broad knowledge of preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, experience with hands on care (such as blood draws, catheter placement, restraint) and possess excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, document and monitor vital signs, maintain the cleanliness of the hospital, as well as assist the veterinarian during medical procedures. We place a strong emphasis on client education and customer service.

The ideal candidate must be a team player, as well as willing and able to work in a busy atmosphere. The position requires a flexible schedule and includes rotating weekend and holiday shifts.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
