Davis Ulmer Sprinkler is Hiring a Project Manager- Fire Alarm Department Near Auburn, ME

As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking candidates for a Project Manager to support the Fire Alarm department at our office in Auburn, ME. As a Project Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all tasks for service and contract jobs by performing excellent communication with customers and employees to manage expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and coordinate all tasks for service and contract jobs from time of contract award to completion.
  • Manage and review job design.
  • Coordinate electrical contractor and submit for and track permit status
  • Order, inventory, prepare, and stage materials.
  • Coordinate labor according to job schedule.
  • Process change-orders with design, field labor, and track material status.
  • Schedule pre-testing and final FM/AHJ inspections.
  • Follow through on close out documents.
  • Maintain relationships with customers to both understand their needs and manage their expectations.
  • Assist with billing and Accounts Receivable.
  • Maintain relationships with office and field crews to clearly communicate needs, job progress, and manage expectations for new and existing jobs.
  • Assist sales team by providing information to build accurate & profitable proposals.
  • Share insight on how to improve on processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent inter-personal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of and ability to manage job budgets.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Requires accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Requires knowledge of and the ability to learn about current and future products to be sold by the company.
  • Strong commitment toward delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone, and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and product specifications.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous field technician and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working with fire alarm systems preferred.
  • Previous experience working with special hazards fire suppression systems a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver s license
  • NICET certifications or any other related certifications a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervise employees working in the office and in the field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office, shop, and field environment.
  • Will require organizing materials in company shop. Shop contains heavy equipment, various job materials, stairs, and vehicles loading and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Field environment consisting of active construction sites and finished customer spaces in a variety of industries.
  • Must have ability to drive to customer sites, stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time and in various weather and job conditions.
