David Evans Associates is Hiring a Civil Engineering Designer Near Denver, CO

DEA is actively seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Designer to join our Transit and Rail Group located in Denver, CO. As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for engineering, design, and field observation activities focused on transit and rail projects. From conceptualization to execution, you'll play a vital role in shaping the infrastructure of tomorrow, both within the office and on project sites around the country. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates eager to apply their technical expertise and contribute to the advancement of sustainable transportation solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Observe and inspect transportation facilities and construction sites.
  • Design transit and railroad terminal and capacity projects.
  • Develop concept plans and construction plan sets including site layout, track, grading, drainage, utilities, and roads.
  • Create design details, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with other project teams, such as structural, architectural, and geotechnical.
  • Prepare quantity and cost estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction science.
  • Preferred: Previous internship experience in civil engineering or construction.
  • Proficiency in CADD design software such as Bentley and Autodesk products.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable working on fast-paced projects.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% nationwide.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
