Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
Work directly with Director of Bands and HS Marching Percussion Instructor
Repair and maintain drumline and frontline equipment
Attend all performances and rehearsals (This includes weekends and overnight trips)
Follow the training program established by the HS Marching Percussion Instructor
Have an extensive knowledge of electronic sound equipment and it’s coordination with the marching program.
Be an integral part of the teaching staff
Set and attain educational goals for drumline students
Have extensive knowledge and experience playing traditional grip
Have extensive knowledge and experience playing Steven’s four-mallet grip
Ability to replace/tune drum heads, replace paracord, and fix broken cables
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV Yes No)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50lbs.
Must be able to supervise students and meet demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and their families to ensure that each child reaches his/her full potential.
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
Must be willing to support and implement davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.

Marching Band or Drum Corps Background
Experience as a member of a marching percussion section
Experience teaching a marching percussion section
