Jr. Technical Writer

**This position is on-site, not remote/hybrid**

Description of PositionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Jr. Technical Writer to create and manage internal and external facing documentation across multiple departments. You will be a core part of the product team, working closely with engineering, product marketing, and client success to create resources that not only document our product, but will accelerate a user from novice to expert. Client performance is critical, and the tools you will build will have a powerful impact on our client base.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities of the position include working with internal SMEs (subject matter experts) to produce and maintain internal and client-facing documentation, including user guides, integration guides, API documentation, In-platform documentation (tooltips, welcome instructions, etc.)

Other duties may include: 

  • Learn complex concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by users; quickly navigating the jump from student to teacher.
  • Act as an editor to ensure consistency in internal and external company documentation.
  • Revise and update existing documentation when needed to reflect product changes and enhancements. 
  • Work closely with product and engineering to stay informed about upcoming features and updates. 
  • Gather user feedback on documentation to improve usability.

Qualifications needed to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, technical writing, or related field.
  • 2/3 years of technical writing experience.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into easily understandable language. 
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Product Suite.
  • Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.
  • Experience working cross-departmentally to communicate the details of a project.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges. 
  • A portfolio of technical documents you’ve created or contributed to.
  • Graphic design or website building experience.
  • SaaS experience
  • Professional and/or educational experience working with Git, GitHub, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
