Summary

The Network Engineer & Securityserves as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee, and business information in compliance with the organization's information security policies. A key element of the security role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected.Maintains information technology strategies including switching, routing, and in some cases perimeter devices researching and implementing technological strategic solutions, servers, and software-network interactions as well as network performance.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program
  • Work directly with the Security officer to facilitate risk assessment and risk management processes
  • Develop and enhance an information security management framework
  • Understand and interact with related disciplines through committees to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services
  • Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Updates information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Manage the installation, upgrade, routing and IP address specifications on firewalls to protect the network while maintaining operational efficiency. 
  • Key member of the firm’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Team that designs and maintains network failover solutions to provide high availability and recoverability. 
  • Identify, recommend and implement necessary and optimal infrastructure improvements. 
  • Maintain and validate licensing regarding the firm’s software needs. 
  • Monitor the performance of the network. 
  • Evaluate and manage bandwidth requirements. 
  • Install and configure routers, switches and wireless controllers. 
  • Assist with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, server computers, peripheral equipment and software. 
  • Ensure desktop computers and server computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems. 
  • Maintain telephone systems.
  • Future state to Azure.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience with supporting corporate network environments that include Windows/Mac/Linux systems. 
  • Base Knowledge of OSPF, RIP, EIGRP and BGP routing protocols. 
  • An understanding of PIM Sparse and Dense Mode Multicast. 
  • Familiarity with deploying and maintaining Dell Servers. 
  • Ability to support DNS, DHCP and NTP services. 
  • Maintaining Barracuda VPN with dual authentication. 
  • Maintaining Barracuda Network Load Balancers.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware. 
  • Maintained user, group, and computer accounts in a Windows Active Directory Domain 
  • Experience installing software, patches and updates on servers, desktops and laptops. 
  • Experience troubleshooting network and software problems. 
  • Experience with Cisco, Nexus and Dell’s ASA’s routers and switches. 
  • Professional security management certification
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST.
