Job Purpose:
This position will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the grounds. You will be responsible for reporting any issues to the supervisor you observe including problems with plants, structures, equipment, or property. You will be working with plants and using both hand and power equipment to accomplish tasks. Occasional overtime may be required with short notice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Planting, watering, plant care, pruning, mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, wedding, snow removal

Skills and Qualifications:

• A desire to learn
• Must be self-motivated
• Display a positive attitude and demonstrate a professional behavior
• An in-depth knowledge of plants and plant care
• Knowledge and ability to prune
• Ability to operate equipment
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Possession of PA spraying license or the ability to acquire one
• Hand tool experience
Education and Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience in a Horticultural related field

Physical Demands/Environment:
• Need to be able to tolerate the heat and the cold.
• Direct contact with Poison Ivy and Poison Oak throughout the summer.
• Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; use close and color vision; ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; talk; hear.
• Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; smell; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; work in wet or humid conditions and in high places; work near moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level is usually quiet.
