Medical Specialty Care Unit

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and to continuously monitor and evaluate practice to ensure safe passage of patients that is in the best interest of populations served.

The Medical Specialty Care Unit (MSCU) is a brand new, state of the art 16-bed progressive care unit in our new patient pavilion. The MSCU will care primarily for medically complex patients on the hospital medicine service. As a building block in terms of patient acuity, as well as professional development, to our 61-bed medicine unit, we are poised to provide a dynamic learning and team based environment for both new and experienced care providers. Inpatient medicine cares for patients of all ages and diagnoses with complex patient needs and high acuity as our specialty. Whether you want to support patients with chronic illness, acute illness, surgical consultation, or infectious disease, you will be helping them all in the MSCU. The team is built with an established leadership team ready to support the growth and expansion of this service line, giving those that join our team the ability to shape the unit culture. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• BSN with one year of experience or ADN with two years of experience
• Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
• Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required.
• Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
• Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential.

Required Licensure/Certifications

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:

• Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire and as applicable, higher level per unit certification requirements as stated on the grid attached to the AHA and Life Support Policy.
