Position Purpose
The Prevention and Culture Change (PCC) Coordinator enhances campus-wide prevention initiatives by empowering individual students and student organizations to make informed, intentional decisions that promote wellbeing and reduces harm associated with high-risk substance use and prevent sexual violence.
In this three-year term position, with potential for renewal, the PCC Coordinator will work collaboratively and creatively with a multidisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement, and advocate for sustainable evidence-based interventions and environmental strategies that reduce harm and promote a culture of wellbeing at Dartmouth.
Description Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Master’s degree in public health, higher education administration, counseling, psychology, sociology, social work, education, community development, health education, health promotion, or related field;
or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
One (1) or more years of demonstrated skills in providing alcohol and other drug (AOD) education and / or sexual violence prevention education.
Demonstrated cultural competence in serving the needs of a diverse population.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including students, staff, and faculty.
Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to students and constituent groups within the college community.
Record of successful program delivery.
Well-developed proficiency in teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and initiative.
High degree of flexibility, including the ability to work evenings / weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health, social work, education, counseling, community development, health education, higher education, student affairs, health promotion, or related field.
Two (2) or more years of experience working in one or more of the following : Higher Education, Greek Life, Residential Education, Student Organizational Administration, health promotion, counseling, wellness, higher education, student affairs, public health, social work, health education, diversity and inclusion, or related field.
Two (2) or more years of demonstrated skills in providing alcohol and other drug education and / or sexual violence prevention education.
Articulated knowledge of health and wellness issues that impact college student success.
Demonstrated application of evidence-based and evidence-informed health promotion programming.
Demonstrated experience delivering health promotion and / or health education programs that achieved measurable improvements in community health with an ability to assess program effectiveness.
Experience developing culturally inclusive programs and working with and / or advocating on behalf of marginalized people (e.
Knowledge of trends and issues affecting sorority and fraternity communities, including legal issues, risk management, programming, and national councils.
Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to the Safe and Drug Free Communities Act.
Training in or experience with Student Wellness Center philosophies and approaches to wellbeing and prevention (e.g. motivational interviewing, mindfulness, positive psychology, bystander intervention, BASICS).
