DARR EQUIPMENT is Hiring a Technical Trainer- Material Handling Equipment Near Irving, TX

Position Overview

The Trainer / Technical Communicator is responsible for putting together, executing, and maintaining training materials and classes. Assists dealer technicians with advanced troubleshooting and repair procedures after all troubleshooting avenues have been exhausted and serve as a high-level product support representative for our dealers. Consult with other trainers, managers, and leadership to conceptualize training materials based on data and research. Travel in the field to assist with difficult repairs with the technicians.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates training at dealer level in regard to inspections, maintenance, and repairs too all equipment while maintaining the training and class material.
  • Set up, repair, and help maintain technician laptops and tablets where necessary.
  • Set employees up in the online systems and retrieve new licensing when expired.
  • Retrieve troubleshooting material vital to repair of the equipment which include manuals, schematics, and steps to repair the equipment in a timely manner.
  • Help technicians maintain and retrieve needed software from factory vendors and show how to implement it.
  • Communicate with the factories to help with the difficult repairs and open CRM or heat tickets, when necessary, at the factory level to help with difficult repairs.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted principles.
  • Travel in the field and to other branches in the network to implement the training and help troubleshoot equipment.

Minimum Education, Skills, and Professionalism

  • High School diploma required. Associates degree from Technical school highly desired.
  • 10 years of shop and field experience in the equipment business. Master IC, Master Electric, & Master Warehouse Certifications preferred. Knowledge and experience with Caterpillar, Unicarriers, Mitsubishi, Kalmar, Cummins, Volvo; etc is preferred but not limited to.
  • Solid knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Must have extensive knowledge of all varieties of material handling manufacturers, but specifically those that we represent.
  • Proven ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details, excellent accuracy and completeness, and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • High level of computer literacy with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, database software and/or business systems.
  • Ability to communicate in English (orally and in writing). Diplomacy skills to deal effectively and professionally with obstacles that arise when contacting visitors, customers, outside vendors and company contacts.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and an advocate for Darr Equipment. Must be able to spell.

Working Conditions

This position requires one to operate in a professional office and field environment. Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position is a technical position that requires field, shop, and training room environments for 8 hours and sometimes more.
