Darigold is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to be a part of Darigold’s Chehalis Plant team. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain and repair all plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic’s role is to ensure successful maintenance and repair of plant machinery and supporting special projects within the plant. This role is represented by a bargaining agreement, which will require union membership. We offer our employees a team-oriented work environment, competitive salary, and an excellent benefit package. What You Will Do:

• Maintain and operator all systems including air compressors, boilers, refrigeration, other utilities, building and process equipment.
• Read and interpreting wiring and control diagrams for the purpose of repairing and maintaining the plant electrical and operation systems.
• Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects to better the efficiency of the facility operation in areas of safety, quality, waste reduction and productivity.
• Responsible for following all food safety and quality requirements as outing in Darigold's Good Manufacturing Practices policy, the position Standard Operating Procedures and facility employee training sessions.
• Must report any concerns that my impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate Supervisor, the Plant Quality Manager or Plant Manager.
• Must maintain all master sanitation requirements and documentation of required duties through the utilization of check sheets, log sheets and chart notations.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

• Understand regulatory codes and perform tasks accordingly.
• Satisfactory attendance and work history.
• Ability to interpret industrial power and control system wiring diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain processing and packaging equipment, PLC experience desirable.
• Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, air systems and ancillaries.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to develop, learn, implement and teach others new procedures, policies and protocols.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holiday.
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position.
• Good teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sanitary welding and fabrication experience desired.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and applications, ability to utilize electronic communication effectively.
• Experience troubleshooting: PLC's , controls instrumentation (limited).
• Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Formal education in a related field- preferred but not required associate degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering a plus.

What You Must Have:

• Maintenance Mechanics are required to have their own basic hand tools. Specialty tools will be supplied as needed.
