Description

The Web Coordinator is responsible for assisting managing the district’s web presence, ensuring that the websites are user-friendly, and consistently up-to-date. The web coordinator must stay current with the ever-changing web trends that can improve the success of the district’s marketing efforts and online
presence and brand identity. The web coordinator reports to the web manager and works with various vendors and communication team to design, implement and maintain web-based applications and sites that will positively impact the customer experience and keep the district websites on pace with industry trends and standards. The web coordinator must be highly knowledgeable in content management systems, search engine optimization and best practices, web accessibility and html standards and best practices, as well as JavaScript frameworks and coding.

  • Help train school and department personnel on other Internet technologies as needed, including but not limited to, content management platforms implemented by the district.
  • Work with creative, communication and technical teams to effectively develop and implement marketing campaigns and engagement programs.
  • Meet with management regularly to discuss current and future functionality.
  • Collaborate with departments to create websites that inform audiences about various initiatives.
  • Work with designers and content creators to develop content that is optimized for the websites and establish policies and procedures for managing content to ensure that it complies with district and technical requirements, as well as district branding standards.
  • Stay up to date on latest technologies and make sure the site and its products are always mobile-friendly and multi-platform ready.
  • Update content to reflect current SEO trends.
  • Repair any broken links and fix any reported bugs.
  • Contribute to discussions on ways to improve functionality and usability.
  • Collaborate with communication teams to meet needs and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain database of campus website administrators.
  • Reply to user comments and queries in a timely fashion or triage to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field.
  • Five years experience in web design, content management, and maintenance, with emphasis in the use of content management systems.
  • Bilingual, Spanish language preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple websites.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Extensive experience working with web content management systems, BlackBoard Web Community Manager/Schoolwires, Finalsite, WordPress, or equivalent is a plus. Excellent communicator, especially regarding abstract concepts.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
  • Must understand web protocols and standards.
  • Highly proficient in data gathering, analysis, and interpretation for digital content (including websites and new media) using a variety of analytical and assessment tools and making recommendations based on the data.
  • Must have flexible mindset to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with all teammates.
  • Must have excellent people and communication skills and able to work with non-technical personnel to help them understand technical aspects.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all stakeholders.
