The Opportunity

Quietflex, a member of Daikin Industries is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Maintenance Supervisor 2 position. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance team through coordination of resources and activities for all maintenance functions in the plant and will provide the technical link between maintenance functions and production needs. Responsibilities

May include, in addition to:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians with electrical, mechanical and process knowledge while ensuring they are complying with all safety protocols, company policies and work procedures.
  • Set priorities on maintenance activities to assure continuing plant operations with minimum downtime while maintaining responsibility for Key Maintenance Measures (overtime, downtime, callouts, workorder management) in assigned business unit.
  • Lead daily PM activities and work orders resolution. 
  • Assign daily tasks to skilled trades workforce associated with improving, down time, safety, quality, cost and delivery. 
  • Coordinate with Production, Technical and other Maintenance groups to ensure accurate and efficient completion of maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical assistance to skilled trades personnel in troubleshooting PLC, servo drives, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic concerns.
  • Budget, direct, manage and control all projects ensuring all schedules and budgets are met.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure spare parts availability and control of assets is maintained.
  • Responsible for procedure implementation for ISO systems.
  • Evaluate and develop improvement strategies for existing systems to improve reliability.
  • Lead Training sessions for both maintenance team and production team members.
  • Develop and implement both preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Control the ongoing repair and period maintenance budgets in line with the fiscal plan. Implement cost reductions to offset negative or unplanned variance to the fiscal plan.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature and Scope:

  • Complies with Company policies, work procedures and safety procedures.
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team 
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion 
  • Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager 
  • Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leaders 
  • Typically does not spend more than 20% of one's time performing the work supervised 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Be dependable and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job
  • Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees
  • Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures and requirements especially for safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting of PLC based control systems using Allen Bradley and Siemens software
  • Understanding servo drives and motors and control systems is desired
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and troubleshooting the same
  • Knowledge of TPM practices and processes
  • Highly effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and database applications
  • Effective organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility and authority and drive employee engagement
  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Experience:

  • 7 years of maintenance experience preferably within a high volume manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of leadership experience required 

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • College Degree –Preferred
  • Vocational training/certifications-license required

Physical Requirements / Working Environment:

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Some lifting (up to 20 lbs.).
  • Long hours on a computer keyboard.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Must be able to walk 3 to 5 miles a day.
  • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, etc. to move, view and transfer product.
