Product Manager - Light Commercial

The Opportunity

Daikin Industries is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Product Manager - LC position. Incumbent shall support all ongoing light commercial product and customer support tool projects, organizing their progress, maintaining their schedules, overseeing the progress of each project and assisting in providing support documentation and presentations, with completion dates. The key role of this position is to be a “Product Champion” both internally and externally. As part of the product management team, the person in this role will work closely with all departments, including marketing, manufacturing, design, engineering, sales planning, technical support services, sales and other key areas to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Responsibilities

May include,

• Develop and/or manage the introduction of new or revised products and features across the existing product families of light commercial products and accessories
• Develop and/or manage introduction of new products targeted at new business development opportunities, to diversify Daikin’s sales
• Conduct market research, including competitor studies, to determine and coordinate product specifications, features breakdown and reporting requirements to the factory or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to ensure production of targeted technical requirements. Implementing a regular and systematic customer feedback process.
• Support planning process for development projects, establishing and maintaining regular contact with engineers for progress information.
• Obtain all necessary technical information for complete product information documentation including product specifications, databases, guide specifications, product bulletins and sales presentations. With marketing, preparing and delivering documents with complete technical details for release to Daikin employees and/or Sales Partners.
• Provide technical information, sales and support tools, and training to the Sales, Service Teams and sales partners
• Represent Daikin at networking events and seminars. Developing relationships with key clients to build long term sales opportunities

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficient technical skills in Applied HVAC, covering Design, Application, Equipment & Controls, Review, National Codes, Installation and Commissioning.Experience with Energy Modeling, CAD and Revit preferred
• Comfortable in a dynamic work environment
• Ability to speak in public
• Ability to develop effective communication pieces such (presentations, written memos, technical articles etc.)
• Ability to work in a team environment with positive flexible attitude, with a can-do approach to solving problem
• Ability to and business and financial methods
• Ability to negotiate
• Detailed practical technical knowledge of HVAC products & services, customers, decision makers, influencers, sales processes and market trends is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience

Education:

• College degree required – engineering preferred, MBA a plus
