Daikin Comfort North America is Hiring a Manager Meetings and Events Near WALLER, TX

May include:

• Provide training, direction and delegates work to the team

• Provides direction to team for successful execution of event

• Ensures work aligns with defined strategies and objectives

• Provides logistical guidance support to cross functional planning teams by setting roles and responsibilities, timelines, deliverables, and project plans

• Manages hotel, vendue, and vendor contracting and negotiations, securing the best possible terms and cost savings

• Generates creative solutions and recommendations to presented to internal stakeholders and management team members

• Works closely with management team on planning and execution of events and support special projects

• Responsible for building registration sites and manage attendee communication

• Coordinate all aspects of assigned Daikin meetings, factory tours, and showrooms visits

• Schedule and manage pre-planning meetings with project team; coordinate all information for meetings and events and disseminate appropriately

• Set agendas/schedules for on-site meetings and tours

• Communicate meeting details to all levels of management sales team

• Formulate RFPs to source vendors and meeting locations for annual calendar needs

• Manage on-line registration system, its functions and system reports

• Coordinate logistics planning including agenda/program development, food and beverage menu selections, air and ground transportation arrangements, registration and housing processes and audiovisual/technical needs

• Provide onsite management of meetings and events to include oversight of customers and vendors

• Troubleshoot and solve onsite problems seamlessly, implement contingency plans as needed onsite

• Track meeting and event expenses and stay within or below budget

• Track attendance, registration, hotel history and attendee satisfaction

• Maintain and produce meeting reports

• Complete post-event tasks include reconciliation of expenses, evaluation of event, and report out on meeting results

• Develop and manage vendor relationships and contracts

• Perform other duties Manager may assign

• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Nature & Scope:

• Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team 

• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion 

• Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager 

• Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leaders 

• Typically does not spend more than 20% of one's time performing the work supervised

• High level of knowledge of marketing and event disciplines and meeting industry contracting standards and practices

• Organizational awareness and knowledge of corporate standards and procedures

• Vendor manager skills – Level 2 & 3 planner

• Negotiation skills – Level 2 & 3 planner

• Budgeting skills – Level 2 & 3 planner 

• Ability to work flexible hours and potential travel for events and ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Experience:

• 6 years of experience in event and meeting planning

• 3 year leadership experience

Education:

• High School or GED Equivalency

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred

People Management (Y/N): Yes

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations

• Must be able to execute event set-up or breakdown responsibilities such as lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds in any event environment, including the outdoors. Travel will be required including overnight. Work schedules will vary and occur outside of standard office hours
