Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mechanical QA/QC Technician II is responsible for the inspection and testing of all D-Tech Rotary Steerable parts for defects and deviations according to specifications, including parts manufactured internally, those assembled internally, and those received from outside vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

  • Possess working knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and hand tools (e.g. Micrometers, Verniers, Height Gauge, Thread Guage) 
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
  • Create and maintain inspection records for all components & assemblies
  • Maintain calibration requirements & records for all calibrated equipment
  • Composing Defect Reports and Concession requests
  • Inspection of new and used components against drawings and requirements 
  • Verify parts meet quality control procedures, engineering specifications and customer requirements
  • Assist with creating and updating company quality procedures and documents
  • Inspect all new parts that arrive at facility
  • Inspect all used parts and sub-components of disassembled RSS Tools
  • Quarantine, scrap, and prepare rework parts ready to ship for repair
  • Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals
  • Ensure all inspection and test activities are conducted safely
  • Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned

To apply you must meet the following criteria:

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a skilled quality control technician.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, geometric tolerancing and work instructions
  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mails, opening, and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based systems, including One Drive, Dropbox and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in shifts and overtime (weekends and some holidays included) as required, be flexible in working requirements as the needs of the business dictate.
  • Self-sufficient in performing all duties while working without supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize workload but be flexible to adjust to changing deadlines.
  • Ability to approach problems with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standard of personal conduct in performing all duties.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, neat and organized, always keeping Safety First.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English Language fluently.
  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED:

  • Machining / Engineering background within the oil & gas, aerospace, and/or automotive industries 
  • Inspection experience of machined components and assemblies
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC software
  • Oil and gas industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years precision hand tool experience

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk while wearing the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, closed toe shoes, steel-toe footwear, etc.); sit and/or stand for long periods of time; 8 – 12 hours a day, frequently lifting up to forty-five (45) pounds without assistance and anything over forty-five (45) up to one hundred (100) pounds with assistance. Frequent carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects over one hundred (100) pounds with proper equipment. Kneeling, squatting and a range of other physical motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
