The Dürr Group operates in the market with five divisions:

  • Paint and Final Assembly Systems: paint shops and final assembly systems for the automotive industry
  • Application Technology: robot technologies for the automatic application of paint as well as sealants and adhesives Measuring and Process Systems: balancing and cleaning systems as well as testing and filling technology

  • Technology Systems: exhaust-air purification systems and energy-efficiency technology
  • Woodworking Machinery and Systems: machinery for the woodworking

We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Site Manager to join our Paint and Final Assembly Systems division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Dürr influences at a global level.

Location: Southfield, MI

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Process customer bulletins and field orders
  • Provide value analysis documentation support to project managers
  • Subcontractor claims management
  • Customer claims management
  • Litigation scope, cost and timing analysis
  • PCR / CCR documentation and cost development
  • Reporting and analyzing PCR trends
  • Providing project cost analysis, trends, and recommendations to functional departments on PCRs
  • Provide project management services
  • Monitor and coordinate the efforts of assigned subcontractors
  • Inform Project Manager of events and progress of activities related to the various bid packages being supervised
  • Serve as principal contact for assigned subcontractors and monitor and enforce compliance to schedule, budget and quality, scope of work and specifications
  • Participate and support the site safety program
  • Participate and support the Dürr quality program
  • Supervise and monitor site clean-up activities
  • Receive and approve completed contractor daily reports and resolve any special comments or problems
  • Resolution of minor installation coordination and engineering problems
  • Monitor and report potential financial impacts to the project manager and site manager
  • Issue and monitor contractor punch lists for contract completion
  • Participate in start-up and extend support as required
  • Organize and attend meetings as required and issue minutes
  • Coordinate the documentation required for subcontractor equipment test and handover
  • Communicate and provide subcontractor equipment information to commissioning personnel
  • Verify contractor percentage of work completed against request for payment
  • Provide input to the earn vs. burn labor hours database
  • Generate PCRs to capture field related changes
  • Provide weekly schedule progress updates to the planning department and / or project manager
  • Generate daily reports
  • Conduct site coordination meetings (internal and subcontractors)
  • Client contact for site installation activities
  • Provide monthly cost report updates to the project manager
  • Conduct "pre job" walk through with trade's council to deal with any demarcation issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience required
  • Ten or more years of supervisory experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience with site management
  • Labor and union relations skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (30 hour certified)
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
