We are a Long Island based premier luxury residential millwork shop located on the East Coast. D. Reis Furniture Manufacturing has an uncompromising commitment to quality, personal service, and exemplary craftsmanship. 

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Estimato r to manage our high-end residential projects across the Long Island and New York area. This position will work closely with the site superintendent and project management team throughout the build process. The ideal candidate will have the technical skills required and intimate knowledge of the unique opportunities and challenges that arise in the high-end millwork environment. They will also have the professionalism and care to manage our critical relationships with our clients, general contractors, and in-house team. This is an exciting role that puts you in the middle of building some of the most beautiful and one-of-a-kind residences in the New York area.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of millwork project from planning to implementation Serve as the primary contact with owner, architect, designer and/or general contractors
  •  Develop and maintain project schedule and coordinate field sequencing
  •  Work closely with field Superintendent to organize resources and coordinate millwork requirements onsite.
  •  Review the bid documents to establish a thorough understanding of the project scope and requirements
  • Interact with Architect/Designer/Owner Rep throughout bid process and generate RFI’s
  • Prepares in-house scope of work and cost estimates for all trades
  • Prepares Request for Proposals for subcontractors on Company bid list
  • Prepares outline of project schedule
  • Qualify subcontractor bids and reconcile with in-house estimate
  • Review and confirm that subcontractor bids include the complete scope of work
  • Assists with maintenance of Company subcontractor database and historical cost database
  • Assists with maintenance of bid documents log and archive
  •  Procure subcontractors and suppliers for project
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of scope in bid packages
  • Coordinate, review and approve shop drawings/samples for accuracy and consistency prior to release to client
  • Drive procurement and project engineering functions to ensure that all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, and changes are processed in time to guarantee project schedule is met
  • Effectively address and resolve issues as they arise
  • Work with finance to prepare monthly requisitions, and follow through to payment
  • Establish and maintain all project files including but not limited plans, specifications, subcontractor vetting, subcontractor agreements, changes in scope or specifications, clarifications, as built documents, etc. 
  •  Closely tack project costs, and maintain detailed analysis of profitability
  •  Lead monthly budget and schedule review meetings with Owner and Architect, focusing on review of risk items 

Essential skills/requirements:

 5 years of millwork and building experience in high-end residential market

  • 5 year of AutoCAD experience
  • Proficient in understanding architectural drawings required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial skills
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • High attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of CNC Manufacturing a plus
  •  Bachelors degree is a must
