The primary responsibilities of the position within the organization is to perform responsible work supervising and coordinating the activities of utilities crews, engaged in the installation, repair and maintenance of underground utility systems.
-Ability to keep employees time, keep record of call outs and fill out time sheets.
-Ability to plan and order materials needed to build job. (Storm, sewer, water concrete usage.)
-Know all machines and equipment: general safe operation, operate efficiently and effectively.
-Do walk around inspection, check fluid levels, pins, cylinders, etc.
-Ability to read blueprints. (Understand grades, percentages, soil types and conditions.)
-Ability to communicate with owners, city officials, inspectors, vendors, etc.
-Ability to plan, organize, implement, teach/train, delegate, motivate.
-Must possess good communication and problem solving skills with ability to deal with negative situations in a positive way.
-Must possess working knowledge of survey to match with blueprints.
-Must have and maintain good safe driving habits and driving record.
-Be aware and abreast of OSHA rules and all safety procedures.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
-Able to climb on and off equipment multiple times during the day.
-Repetitive bending and stooping.
-Able to climb up and down ladder if needed.
-Able to dig with a shovel.
-Able to lift up to seventy five pounds.
-Able to operate tamps (plate tamps and/or jumping jack.)
-Able to be on feet for prolonged hours.
