We are currently looking for a Product Specialist to join our growing, progressive, and collaborative work environment. This position would be a hybrid role and require the candidate to work on-site in the Farmingdale, Long island headquarters office approximately 2 days per week.

The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the product and business initiatives for the assigned instrument category, primarily Evans Hybrid.

The position reports to and takes strategic direction from the Sensory Percussion Product Manager and is responsible for increasing the demand for products through the following (but not limited to) activities;

product research and development, product presentation and maintenance, competitive analysis and research, consumer and trade marketing, sales tools and interaction, educator outreach, artist and consumer support and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Product Managers (PM) with the development and launch of new products, including; project scope, testing, validation, item setup, packaging, operations coordination, communications, etc.
  • Coordinate and host in-person events promoting and supporting Sensory Percussion, including : store visits, activations, trainings, campus masterclasses, clinics, POP setups, trade shows, community events, performances.

Responsible for event planning, execution, documentation (both for internal stakeholders and for audiences via content capture), and continuing improvement with a focus on driving sales

  • Plan, assist with and attend consumer / trade events; booth logistics / activity, orders, travel, reports
  • Facilitate conversation with potential customers in person, on the phone, and digitally. Provide information, inspiration and a human touch during the selling process and support and community for users after sale.

Manage list of warm leads. Assist consumer engagement via blogs, social media, forums, consumer inquiries, etc.

  • Assist in coordination of artist activity as needed, including; training, software support, clinics, factory visits, photo shoots, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of preset kits and software assets within Sensory Percussion for individual use or mass audience
  • Cross functionally manage brand specific or specialty tasks or projects as directed by PM
  • Close proximity to NY Office preferred, travel 70%

Qualifications

  • Plays drums, passionate and knowledgeable about drums, drum hardware / accessories, electronic drumming tools and technology
  • Music industry, music retail or music education experience a plus
  • Familiar with music production software and hardware (DAW, eKits, samplers, recording hardware, synthesizers, etc)
  • Outgoing, eager to engage with the market and potential customers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident presenting complex topics and speaking to both groups and individuals in person and digitally
  • Very comfortable with technology and able to troubleshoot hardware and software in a variety of situations (remotely without physical access to the product, under time pressure, etc.)
  • Business travel experience a plus
  • Ability to organize projects and meet timelines with a strong attention to detail

The base salary range for this role would be commensurate with experience : $65k-$80k per year
