Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is Hiring a Teacher/Coach 2022-2023 / Head Water Polo Coach, CYPRESS CREEK HIGH SCHOOL Near Texas, TX

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
  2. Eligible for a valid Texas teacher certificate appropriate for teaching assignment;
  3. General knowledge of coaching techniques and strategies;
  4. Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules and regulations;
  5. A minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience in a formal educational setting preferred;
  6. Must be willing to obtain and maintain a current automated external defibrillator (AED) and CPR certificate;
  7. Experience as a coach in more than one sport preferred;
  8. Demonstrates positive leadership in working with diverse students, staff, families, and communities. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 187 days

SALARY:

Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees 2021-2022.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for coordinating and directing the campus athletic program related to this assignment to achieve the maximum potential success of all assigned program members and teams.
  2. Develop and supervise assigned athletes using a variety of instructional techniques to promote individual and collective growth in the area of athletic skill development, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
  3. Supervise and evaluate assigned professional personnel and disseminate athletic information from the UIL/CAC/CFISD athletic department as needed.
  4. Work with other members of the campus instructional staff to plan and implement instructional strategies that ensure the overall educational development of all student-athletes assigned to this position.
  5. Establish performance criteria for team selection and maximal competitive performance. Regularly evaluate and assess students’ athletic abilities and competencies.
  6. Responsible for working with district and campus athletic personnel to develop competitive athletic schedules for all program teams and individuals.
  7. Possess a thorough knowledge of UIL rules and regulations. Help to ensure that all assigned coaches and students are aware and in compliance with all UIL and CFISD policies.
  8. Prepare and keep a current inventory of all equipment and work through CFISD purchasing guidelines and procedures to recommend the purchasing of necessary athletic equipment related to the program assigned.
  9. Assist with the oversight of the proper care, maintenance, and scheduling of all campus athletic fields and facilities.
  10. Assist with the instruction and advisement of students on NCAA regulations and academic requirements for scholarships.
  11. Attend the All Sports Booster Club meetings as needed.
  12. Work to develop a plan for continuity of instruction from the 6th-12th grade. Maximize the effectiveness of the feeder development process.
  13. Perform administrative and other duties as assigned by the principal, campus athletic coordinator or district athletic department.
  14. Maintain necessary yearly CPR/First Aid/AED/Concussion and UIL CCP training certifications.
  15. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
