Job Title: ETL Tester

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled ETL Tester with strong hands-on experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and database testing.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of data integration processes and database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

ETL Testing: Perform detailed testing of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading, to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

Database Testing: Conduct rigorous testing on various database components such as tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers to ensure data integrity and consistency.

Test Planning and Case Development: Develop comprehensive test plans, create detailed test cases, and design test scripts based on functional and technical specifications.

Data Validation and Reconciliation: Validate data transformation logic and perform data reconciliation to ensure data consistency between source and target systems.

Performance Testing: Execute performance and load testing for ETL processes and databases to identify and resolve any performance issues.

Defect Identification and Management: Identify, log, and track defects using defect tracking tools. Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.

Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results. Prepare test summary reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, database administrators, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Continuous Improvement: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in ETL and database testing. Continuously enhance testing methodologies and processes.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum [10] years of hands-on experience in ETL and database testing.

Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and working with various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL). Experienced with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and data integration frameworks.

Testing Tools: Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit) and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify discrepancies.

Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in testing processes and documentation.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in database or ETL testing are advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data warehousing solutions.

Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.

Familiarity with cloud-based data services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
