Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse with emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans.

Responsibilities

Operations : * Direct and supervise all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely manner.

Tour the warehouse regularly to answer questions, evaluate operations and solve problems. Make recommendations to the Area Campus Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.

Labor Management : * Provide direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse.

Develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operation. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, coaching and disciplining employees.

• Equipment : * Allocate equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner. Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to ensure that a sound maintenance program is implemented.
• Communication : * Interact with other department management to achieve goals. Attend warehouse planning meetings.
• Documentation / Reporting : * Ensure that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.

Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.

• Quality : * Supervise checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
• Safety, Sanitation, Security : * Review warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.

Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed. Operate in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.

• Inventory Management : * Maintain stock locator system. Ensure proper stock rotation. Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
• Budgeting : * Assist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
• Other Duties : * All other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Education* : Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience* : Minimum five years full-time.
• Knowledge / Skills* : Requires demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication. Also required is an understanding of warehousing operations.

Strong computer skills, including warehouse systems and Microsoft Office, is required

Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

Must be able to use proper lifting techniques. Emphasis on safety is extremely important. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.

Must be able to shift priorities easily.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Special Requirements* : Must be able to work in dry and temperature-controlled environments. Must have responsible work habits and pass all pre-employment tests.
