Job Description:

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Dean of Creative Arts, manages the Creative Arts Division’s non-credit and community programs, including Arts Prep Academy, JazzFest Academy, and Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
STRATEGY/VISION

  • Provides strategic direction for all non-credit and ancillary Creative Arts programs
  • Supervises and evaluates the work of the Director of JazzFest, the Director of the Creative Arts Preparatory Academy, Director of College wide Production Management, and support staff
  • Develops funding and strategic plans to expand non-credit programs and services
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with corporate and community partners, educational partners, and the arts sector
  • In consultation with Tri-C’s marketing department, develops and implements an integrated marketing and communications plan to build awareness and positive perception of non-credit and community programs
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with donors and community stakeholders
  • Develops strategies to help students transition between non-credit programs and credit-bearing courses

COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP

  • Proactively partners with faculty and other stakeholders to capitalize on new and current program opportunities

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Represents the College in professional organizations and community activities
  • Works with the College Foundation to identify and cultivate prospective donors, and prepare grant proposals for operational support
  • Leads the college wide production and theater schedule meetings
  • Prepares and submits grant reports by the established deadlines
  • Forecasts, plans, maintains, prepares, and monitors the department budget
  • Attends evening and weekend events as appropriate
  • Manages box office operations, e.g. staffing, data reporting and software/hardware needs
  • Oversees co-curricular opportunities for credit- and non-credit students
  • Performs other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of six years of experience administering youth-serving and community programs
  • Experience with fundraising, grant writing and grant management
  • Experience planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising and ensuring the quality of the work of others
  • Experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Ability lead both strategically and operationally
  • Ability to engage others in developing and implementing a strategic vision
  • Proven record of building and sustaining relationships with internal and external constituents
  • Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively & diplomatically with diverse populations & constituencies
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of budget management with the proven ability to work within budgets & tight timelines
  • Possess advanced-level skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working effectively to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in booking artists & arts groups, events management, including negotiating contracts & artist offers with agents, artist representatives & artists.
  • Experience working in an educational setting
