Entry Level Mechanical Drafter

Cutting Edge Supply Company is North America’s Largest Independently Owned Distributor of Ground Engaging Tools.” In operation since 1950; we have been a leader in the Heavy Equipment parts business for over 60 years. Our focus is to provide the highest quality and largest selection of wear parts for the Mining, Construction, and Material Processing.

We are looking to hire an intermediate level person to work in our Drafting/Design office at our Colton location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create Drawing, assemblies, and Bills of Materials

• Understanding of sheet metal, structural fabrication, and welding.

• Learn processes and capability of our manufacturing Dept. to be able to design solutions.

• Interacting with sales, engineering, and other departments as required.

• Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 software.

• Reverse engineering, able to draw existing, sometimes damaged, assemblies and produce replacement part drawings.

• Hands on capable, must be willing to be “Hands On” in the shop as required

• Use ERP/MRP software for order processing. (Global Shop Solutions) training provided

Qualifications:

· Understanding of drafting standards.

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

· Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.

· Willing to accept responsibility, work independently, and follow directions.

· Good organizational skills & self-motivated

· 1-2 years of drafting experience in design of sheet metal, or structural fabrication and welding

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

· Ability to use measuring tools. (Tape Measure, Calipers, Micrometers, Ect.)

· Experience with Microsoft Office

· Experience with heavy equipment is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
