Customer Value Partners is Hiring a Senior IT Security Engineer Near Rockville, MD

We are looking for a Senior IT Security Engineer who is a strong communicator and relationship builder, who uses soft skills to persuade stakeholders to: achieve consensus, obtain commitment, and act.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and design solutions for issues involving new features, interoperability, vulnerability, system limits and constraints facing the platforms and products.
  • Assess potential risks with new applications and products and provide security requirements and recommendations for risk mitigation to help the business succeed with their projects.
  • Consult as security subject matter expert with networking, architecture, developers, and others on solutions to security problems.
  • Directly engage in advanced troubleshooting and delivery with stakeholders, including end-users.
  • Provide information security engineering support across organization –including off-hours support and on-call rotations as appropriate.
  • Ensure reports and findings are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner to management
  • Identify higher risk areas and vulnerabilities of the infrastructure for assessment.
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Be accountable for computer and digital forensics
  • Provide subject matter expertise for alerting and analyzing security events within the Security Operations Center to prevent and address security incidents.
  •  Monitor and provide assurance of the overall health and effectiveness of prevention, detection, and response capabilities.
 

Qualifications

  • 4-year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (7 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • 7 years of IT Security experience, in areas such as security operations, incident analysis, incident handling, and vulnerability management or testing, log analysis, intrusion detection
  • Certifications in one or more of the following:
    • GCFE Forensic Examiner
    • CISSP
    • CISM
  • Experence with end user device security in an environment with over 10,000 end user devices.
  • ITIL foundation certification preferred
  • Experience with a variety of cybersecurity tools (Tenable Security Center;ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus Software; Splunk Log Management and Analysis Software; BitLocker; GMER; and Malwarebytes)
  • Experience with enterprise security controls and security best practices for Windows and Mac systems
  • Demonstrated experience performing computer & digital forensics
  • Demonstrated understanding of Security Fundamentals, General IT knowledge, Network Systems, Firewalls, IDS/IPS Systems, Windows & Linux Systems Administration, Windows and MAC operating systems, Desktop Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Databases, and Software Development
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, and Python Preferred
