Are you a driven candidate with solid heavy equipment parts experience? If so, we are looking for you! We are growing rapidly and looking for an experienced heavy equipment technician candidate who will partner with our growing team. The role is located at our Kansas City, MO location.

Summary

As the Sourcing Manager, this position will oversee the sourcing, development, and management of acquisition initiatives to ensure the supply of products and services (internal & external) that are essential to the continuous improvement of business operations while meeting or exceeding our standards and optimizing contribution margins. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop short and long-term purchasing objectives aimed at driving the supply chain continuity, meeting quality objectives, and continuous cost improvement.
  • Source strategic supply partners, forecasts for the procurement, negotiate reasonable and cost-effective contracts and develop cost reduction strategies.
  • Manage global sourcing initiatives by initiating and completing RFQ’s, RFP’s for goods and services.
  • Develop both the department and company strategic missions to further optimize cost structure and ensure top-tier levels of service.
  • Manage the development and on-going maintenance of the budgets and forecasts for all category products: Monitors financial performance against targets.
  • Oversee and manage purchasing data analytics & reporting for assigned procurement operations.
  • Coach purchasing personnel in new practices and establish policies on strategic sourcing process that hold teams accountable for results.
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process to monitor supply chain performance, vendor and customer fill-rates, and inventory management to drive accountability for results as they relate to cost, inventory, and purchasing objectives.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with suppliers and vendors, leading negotiation efforts and continuously reviewing pricing structure and implementing changes to maximize performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, or a similar field.
  • At least 10 years' experience in purchasing or commodity management.
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with subordinate personnel from various departments.

 Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Exposure to the supply agreement process; writing, negotiating, and working through legal through contracts.
  • Supplier exposure; negotiating, product engineering reviews, supplier visits, etc.
  • Cost reduction: negotiations, back leveraging, resourcing, design, and growth
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Basic system knowledge - Microsoft Office, Power BI, ERP, and MRP
  • Solid project management skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly in the US. Travel requirements will be between 5%-15%.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity – The ability to type or operate common office equipment up to 8 hours per day, 40 days per week.
