Summary

This position is intended to be a jointly beneficial learning experience. This is an opportunity to be exposed to a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment involving several departments and personnel, including quality, design and manufacturing engineering, production and operations management, manufacturing installers and technicians, and outside service teams. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate quality alerts for internal and external issues. 
  • Implement containment activities for quality control related items.
  • Document, communicate, and help troubleshoot production issues.
  • Analyze data through monthly reporting of internal and external quality findings and expenses.
  • Responsible for calibration of torque tools and other calibrated equipment.
  • Maintain records and documentation of quality documents.
  • Participate in cross functional team root cause analysis investigations.
  • Perform process audits to meet company and ISO standards.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting for internal rework process.
  • Collaborate with production manufacturing to produce more efficient processes for installing truck mounted equipment.
  • Monitor Compliance, Quality Process and Safety within process development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidate should be pursuing a degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, automotive engineering/technology, or related technical degree. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office – Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings and 3D models 
  • General mechanical and electrical knowledge of light, medium and heavy duty trucks
  • Familiar with hand, electric, and pneumatic tools and measuring devices.
  • Familiar with ISO standards

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Work well within a matrix organization.
