POSITION DETAILS
Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.
Organizes office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information
Collcts data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections
Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities
Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing
Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department
May supervise office staff and student workers
Performs related duties as assigned.
CAMPUS-SPECIFIC INFORMATION
ASAP helps students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students, yearly textbook vouches, and monthly MetroCards for all students. The ASAP Adminstrative Coordinator performs comprehensive administrative duties to ensure productive ASAP college office functioning and support the program's expansion activities, including program operations, recruitment and communication.
Typical Duties
Participate in student orientation and outreach efforts;
Maintain databases, records and lists about program activities;
Process budget requisitions and invoices for payment;
Maintain current program information on department website(s), manuals, and other print or electronic sources;
Organize and execute logistics for events and meetings;
Serve as a front-line ambassador to the students, public and university community on informational matters;
Participate in special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED Qualifications
Experience in administration of a public service, social service, education, counseling or mentoring program; work with educators and students
Commitment to promoting college access and success in post-secondary education;
Strong writing and communication skills;
Flexibility to work productively in a fast paced, time-sensitive, high volume and dynamic student-focused and customer responsive environment;
Strong presentation, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty and staff ;
Detail orientation and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, establish priorities and meet deadlines;and
Computer proficiency using standard office software programs/applications, including ACCESS database and Google Docs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary commensurate with education and experience: $54,268 - $60,394.
