Cumulus Media is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near New York, NY

CUMULUS MEDIA has an opening for a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst position offers the opportunity to work in a challenging and engaging environment with high visibility among executive leadership and provides cross-functional support and solutions to the company operating and corporate departments.

The Financial Analyst position will be part of a small team that plays a critical role in developing and supporting the achievement of financial and operational objectives across the company by providing relevant, timely, and actionable analysis and insights to management and senior executives. The person will also be involved in all forecasting and budgeting activities, support corporate and strategic initiatives, enjoy ample opportunities to own independent work streams and play an integral part in guiding the future performance of the business.

This is considered a Hybrid Remote role; therefore, some office-based work will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop insights and actionable intelligence to better drive operational and financial performance
  • Apply critical thought and analytical rigor to business problems and development of proposed solutions
  • Support preparation of deliverables and supporting analytics for forecasting and budgeting cycles
  • Create and operationalize key business metrics
  • Assist business leaders in the development and tracking of critical key performance indicators
  • Support business owners with ad hoc analysis of historical data to drive sales strategies, operational improvements, and organizational focus
  • Contribute to divisional and company forecasts and own selected financial reporting
  • Participate in monthly review of actual results & produce variance commentary

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • BS / BA degree required; accounting experience/CPA is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or equivalent academic achievement
  • Previous exposure to digital advertising and/or media desirable
  • Excellent team player with advanced organizational and pattern recognition skills and superb attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity supported by high standards of excellence and pride in work
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and visualize large quantities of data and identify critical trends
  • Problem-solving ability and strong, rigorous analytical skills for finding solutions to complex problems and identifying stories and trends from data
  • Advanced quantitative analysis, modeling and Excel skills
  • Proven and demonstrable ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Honesty, integrity, maturity, confidentiality, and the ability to exercise discretion in this position are critical
