We are looking for a talented System Test Technician III - 1st Shift to join our team specializing in MANUFACTURING for our Power Systems Business Segment in Fridley, MN.
System Test Technician III - First Shift
  • Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery and specialty equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.
  • Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.
  • Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.
  • Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.
  • Engage in HSE Training.
Delivery
  • Fully proficient performing skilled activities expected by their roles in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less capability.
  • Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Work with peers and support staff to:
    Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints
    Solve problems and improve processes
    Participate in continuous improvement activities
Qualifications - External
Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Associate Degree in Electronics and or electrically training beyond high school is preferred
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and good understanding of PC-based operating systems and general understanding of programming language.
  • General knowledge of systems, switch gears and circuit breakers, etc.
  • Rigging and derigging of the system.
  • Test simulations and general understanding of load bank functionality.
  • Experience working directly with customers/suppliers, demonstrating good communication, interpersonal and technical skills to maintain a good working relationship
  • Flexibility - Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transition effective from task to task; adapt to varying customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workload to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Decision Making/Problem Solving - Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason
  • Teamwork - Willingly cooperates and works collaboratively toward solutions that generally benefit all involved parties and accomplish group objectives
  • Must Pass Skills Test
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
