Family Nurse Practitioner
Duties:
- Provide primary care services to patients of all ages, from age 18 to the elderly
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures and disease management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Skills:
- Pain management: Ability to assess and manage pain in patients using a variety of techniques and interventions
- Psychopharmacology: Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, side effects, and interactions
- Utilization management: Understanding of healthcare utilization patterns and ability to optimize resource allocation for cost-effective care delivery
- Dementia care: Experience in providing specialized care for patients with dementia, including assessment, treatment, and support for patients and their families
- Esthetic laser treatment: Proficiency in performing esthetic laser treatments for various skin conditions or cosmetic purposes
- Cerner: Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system for documentation, order entry, and communication within a healthcare organization
- ICD-9: Knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding system used for medical diagnoses and procedures
- IV insertion: Skill in safely inserting intravenous catheters for administration of fluids, medications, or blood products
- Utilization review: Ability to review medical records to determine the appropriateness, necessity, and quality of healthcare services provided
