CU Medicine is Hiring a Patient Financial Specialist Near AURORA, CO

The CU Medicine team delivers business operations, revenue cycle and administrative services to support the patients of over 3,500 University of Colorado School of Medicine physicians and advanced practice providers. These providers bring their unparalleled expertise at the forefront of medicine to deliver trusted, compassionate health care services at primary and specialty care clinics as well as facilities operated by affiliate hospitals of the University of Colorado. We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Financial (Cost Estimate Specialist) to join our Revenue Operations team. This job can be performed 100% remotely. The Patient Cost Estimate Specialist will provide patient cost estimates, as requested, in a timely manner. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Monitor cost estimate inbox for patient estimate requests. Provide cost estimates for patients at affiliated hospitals, CU School of Medicine and freestanding clinics.Respond to all requests and correspondence as defined in service level agreements. Effectively and professionally communicate with hospital staff, clinic staff and patients by phone and email.Assist with other projects within the department as requested.Assist leadership with accuracy dashboards as needed. Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical billing/insurance setting. Familiarity with medical terminology, procedure codes and diagnostic codes required. Ability to follow detailed processes currently in place is required. Must have strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet usage, and web navigation is critical. Must be able to operate basic office equipment, phone, fax, copier, and scanner. Experience with online billing system and PC applications is desired. Must be detailed, organized and able to handle deadlines and stressful situations while promoting a positive team atmosphere. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
