Responsibilities:
- Assist with preoperative preparations, including verifying patient information, creating a surgical plan, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure proper sterile techniques are followed and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
- Assist with postoperative care, including monitoring patients' recovery, providing pain management, and ensuring a smooth transition to the recovery room or post-anesthesia care unit.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance surgical nursing skills.
Requirements:
- Valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Circulating Nurse in an operating room setting
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Current CPR certification
