• Developsunderstanding of each student s specific disability; maintainsproper training and certification if required; understandsindividual learning style and need for accommodations which may berelevant to the implementation of the instructional programbehavioral plan healthrelated plans or emergencyplans
• Deliversnonemergency healthrelated services as specified in student sHealth TreatmentPlan
• Deliversemergency treatment procedures on students asneeded
• Utilizesuniversal precautions whenever student body fluids arepresent
• Preparesinstructionalmaterials
• Assistswith maintaining attendance and cumulativerecords
• Workswith individual students or small groups at the direction of theteacher
• Assistswith classroom managementplan
• Checksstudent work including objective testmaterials
• Workscooperatively with the substitute teacher in providing instructionand assistance tostudents
• Assistswith housekeeping chores and bulletinboards
• Assistsin or supervises students during any school sponsored activityoccurring during theschool

• Assists in thesafe and orderly mobilization of all students including thosephysically disabled to and from all schoolenvironments
• Assistswith clerical tasks maintains inventory of materials assigned tothe program and the classroom and the procurement and use of mediaequipment
• Activelyassists students in dressing toileting braces position and withmatters relating to personal hygiene healthrelated services andemergency plans as needed.

In the event of toilet accidents may berequired to change and launder soiledclothing

• Assistsstudents during seizures or other medical incidents and afterwardsas necessary followingtraining
• Assistsin feeding students who are unable to feedthemselves
• Responsiblefor the supervision of students at alltimes
• Supportsefforts of the teacher to provide a consistent approach ininteracting with disabledstudents
• Accompaniesstudents to mainstreamed class assisting with tasks which theirdisability would otherwise make difficult orimpossible
