AP / AR Billing Coordinator

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented independent contributor to help transition the company’s billing operations to their Newark, NJ office.

This position will work alongside one other individual whose focus is on billing. The AP / AR Billing Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and executing accounting operations, billing customers, and handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, among other responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of relevant experience and is proficient in QuickBooks software.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with internal team members to execute billing functions for all terminal locations.
• Maintain the company’s financial and accounting records ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and invoice customers for business transactions.
• Collect payment and reconcile bank statements accordingly.
• Provide excellent customer service while holding customers accountable to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
• Create weekly reports using Quickbooks software and provide account statements to customers.
• Resolve client billing issues to rectify discrepancies.
• Perform accounts payable and receivable functions which may include, but are not limited to, recording journal entries and reconciling the general ledger.

Experience :

• 2 years of relevant bookkeeping and / or AP / AR experience
• Must be proficient in Intuit QuickBooks software
• Prior Knowledge of the transportation industry (Intermodal freight is a plus)
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both internally and externally
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
