Air Freight Operations Manager

This individual is directly responsible for the timely and profitable movement of shipments tendered to the company in accordance with customers and regulating agencies requirements.

Responsibilities :

• Directly responsible for the routing of all shipments and capitalizing on all consul opportunities.
• Ensure that customer service expectations are being met.
• Confirm all pick-ups are made.
• Identify solutions, and work with vendors on corrective actions required.
• Verify and update shipment information in computer system.
• Work with and develop airline and surface carrier relationships.
• Enforcement of regulatory requirements, IATA, TSA, etc.
• Lead PM OPS personnel and take on an active role in customer service issues.
• Lead PM OPS personnel to ensure the efficient flow of paperwork.
• Quote and track / trace as needed to support the AF team.
• Review and select outside vendors providing services to the operation.
• Help in completing carrier Report Card with PM feedback.
• Negotiate spot rates on line hauls and airlines.

Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years of job-related or industry work experience.
• Knowledge of freight movement.
• Knowledge of government, and airline regulations.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Skill in using a personal computer and various software packages.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Ability to identify, report, and execute on recurring problems.
