Closing Date: 06/27/2024 Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Summer School Library Media Center (LMC) Paraprofessional. This position provides instructional and other support services in various classroom settings to students under the supervision of a teacher or other professional staff member.This position will require the paraprofessional to support academic, behavioral, language and/or physical needs This position may include assisting/monitoring student(s) with toileting and other physical needs - this includes providing physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location (see toileting definition below) Summer School will run from June 3, 2024 through June 27, 2024 at Glacier Ridge Elementary School 7:45am - 12:30pm Monday-Thursday. June 19 is a non-attendance day Hourly Rate: $16.14. Also, here is a $150 bonus for this LMC Paraprofessional position. Requirements include:
Paraprofessional Short term Approval or Paraprofessional License (ELS) from the IL State Board of Education
Checking out books to students in the library and checking books back in
Manage the circulation and storage of library media center materials
Supervise students under the direction of the library media specialist
Provide assistance in the instruction of information literacy and the use of appropriate technologies
Assist in the use of library media center's hardware, software, and related technologies, including the circulation and cataloging programs (i.e. maintaining IPad carts, and resetting student passwords, etc.)
Definition of toileting: Due to a child’s disability or medical condition, the para must provide physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location. (examples: removing all undergarments, wiping, physically assisting onto and off the toilet area) Walking a child to the bathroom or providing supervision while in the bathroom which does not require physical contact would not be defined as toileting.
