Until filled The Transportation Joint Agreement (TJA), with Districts 47 & 155,currently has an opening for a Routing and Dispatch Assistant. The purpose of this position is to assist with various duties in the office. This is a full-time office position.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Route Manager with duties related to routing.
• Assist the Dispatchers with duties related to the Dispatch desk.
• Answering phones and customer service.
• Data Entry for Routing, Dispatch & Vehicle Information
• Other clerical duties not listed
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

• Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft and Google Suites, Excel & typing).
• Good navigational skills and knowledge of the routing area.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious professional relationships with school personnel, TJA employees, District Administrators and the community.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and deal with stressful situations.
• Ability to exercise confidentiality and good judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Experience: Previous experience in the school bus industry preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: Must possess or be willing to obtain a State of Illinois School Bus Driver Permit and Commercial Driver’s License
