Cryptic Vector is looking for back-end developers to help our team build modern solutions to accomplish complex mission critical tasking. We deliver a wide variety of applications using different technologies based on the requirements of our customers. Help us recommend technologies, design solutions, and improve the workflows of our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will collaborate with designers and front-end developers to realize brand new applications, along with improvements to existing solutions. This position has a potential for hybrid work, up to 80% remote.

The responsibilities of the back-end developer position include the following:

• Design and build new application back ends using a variety of technologies
• Develop new application features and refine and enhance existing features for existing products
• Research, recommend, and prototype new technologies that can improve the experiences of users
• Translate application designs into efficient and effective application software
• Understand technical limitations and provide creative/alternative solutions while building efficient and maintainable applications
• Understand requirements and participate in agile ceremonies
• Build unit test suites for developed code
• Assist in the deployment and support of containerized applications
• Interface directly with end users to build solutions and solve problems
• Participate in brainstorming sessions both internally and with program stakeholders
• Collaborate with a creative team of multidisciplinary product owners, designers, and developers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar
• Professional experience in application development and API development
• Experience with Python and Java desired
• Experience designing interfaces with OpenAPI spec desired
• Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across teams and work in an agile environment.
• A self-motivated active learner and strategic thinker
• Ability to obtain/maintain a US security clearance
• Willing to work in the greater Cincinnati area
