Cryptic Vector is looking for an experienced System Engineer who has previously performed development in one or more of the following fields: algorithms, software, digital communications, and low Size Weight and Power (SWaP) hardware. The ideal candidate has experience leading large and small teams and is familiar working in a rapid development environment. This position assumes the candidate has the ability to lead, but also the ability to contribute technically as a task owner if asked to do so. 

The responsibilities of the System Engineer position include the following:

· Interfacing with customer to establish technical requirements, produce documentation, report status, conduct design reviews, and deliver product

· Planning and executing technical program with a multi-disciplinary team from conception to product delivery

· Creating a detailed schedule of how to execute a program by discipline, task, and the hours necessary to accomplish that task such that program objectives are achieved

• Assisting engineers working on programs you lead with technical direction when they encounter problems performing their tasks
• Writing proposals, system documentation, and test plans/procedures as necessary
• Depending on the individual candidates’ skillsets:
  • Participate as a leader and technical expert in the area of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) design, schematic, and layout
  • Creating Low Probability of Detection (LPD) waveforms using Matlab or another similar tool 
  • Writing software for PC or embedded hardware applications
  • Writing VHDL to implement low-power communication systems
  • Creating prototypes and/or hardened products that perform the processing for advanced digital modulation used in communication systems
  • Creating prototypes and/or hardened products to send baseband data over Radio Frequency (RF) in ranges from 10 MHz to 100 GHz
  • Creating prototypes and/or hardened products to receive Radio Frequency (RF) in ranges from 10 MHz to 100 GHz and convert that to baseband signals
  • Ability to help engineers test and troubleshooting Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) that perform digital and RF functions
• Formulating testing strategies for RF and digital designs
• Proficiency in operating common test equipment used in electrical circuit design and debug such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers
• Understand government MIL-STD specifications and how to design systems to meet these specifications
• Perform on programs that are 3 - 6 months in duration (Quick Reaction Contracts) that start with concept design and end in product delivery within that time-frame

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing in a System Engineering role
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
• Willing to work in the greater Cincinnati area
• Willingness to learn new skills and the desire to constantly grow and become a better engineer
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain a United States security clearance
• Willing to travel up to 6 days per year
• Comfortable with climbing a ladder to access antenna equipment when necessary
