This position plays a key role in facilitating greater connection, communication, and consistency among the various departments at Lake Hart in an effort to increase our staff’s capacity to focus on the Great Commission.

For this role:

  • Serve as part of the Human Resources Services Team and work alongside the assigned Senior HRBP to fulfill HR functions for their capacity area.
  • Implement human resources programs by providing human resources services, which may include recruiting and staffing, administration of compensation and benefits programs, training and development, employee or labor relations, and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • Participate in analyzing and evaluating occupational data such as physical, mental and training requirements of jobs and personnel; prepare and update job descriptions and job posting documents.
  • Assist with ministry partner development and administration of the compensation program for department/ministry staff members. Educate leaders on Cru’s compensation program and administer changes to the wages for dept./ministry staff members.
  • Complete personnel transactions and maintain associated records.
  • Participate in personnel forecasting with the Senior HRBP and leadership of capacity area in order to project staffing needs. Ensure effective communication of those needs throughout the organization and coordinate recruiting efforts by leading the process of interviewing, selection and/or placement of staff members to fill vacant positions.
  • Oversee the performance appraisal/development process for assigned staff.
  • Partner with Director and Team Leaders to identify performance gaps and ensure that technical job-related skills training is provided for individual team members.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies and provide consultative guidance to leaders and employees in assigned capacity area.
  • In partnership with the Senior HRBP, identify legal requirements affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Consult with organizational legal counsel as needed to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law
  • Facilitate employee orientations and implement onboarding and exit interviews as developed by Cru and the HR team.
  • Ensure that opportunities for professional and spiritual growth are implemented and maintained in partnership with the leaders of the capacity area.
  • Collect and analyze data/feedback in order to identify trends and partner with Senior HRBP to collaborate on solutions that best serve the capacity area.
  • Provide specialty or expert advice to teammates and act as a consultant for other Cru Ministries as needed.


Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferrable in Human Resources, Communication or a related field in addition to 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Human Resources credentials or certification preferred.
