Date Available:
August 2023 Primary Purpose: To guide the implementation of strategies to support the social and emotional learning of all students with a specialized focus on effective classroom management and structures to improve school climate. This will include identifying best and promising practices and developing the systems necessary for those practices to be implemented with fidelity. This will also include developing systems to measure impact on desired student and school outcomes as directed by the campus principal in collaboration with the Social and Emotional Learning Department.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:

• Valid Texas teaching credentials

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of SEL strategies as appropriate to assignment
• Exceptional communication skills
• Knowledge of effective SEL instructional strategies and research-based best practices
• Knowledge and success in working with diverse and underrepresented youth and communities
• Knowledge and experience in SEL strategy implementation
• Knowledge and experience in progress monitoring
• Evidence of skills in planning, organization, and collaboration
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of effective professional development practices
• Knowledge of effective classroom management strategies
• Passion for increasing student achievement
• Experience using student and campus level data to select, implement and differentiate instructional methods, designed to meet each student’s individual needs

Experience:

• At least 3 years of recent successful classroom teaching experience
• Prefer 3-5 years working in or with an urban education system with a focus on social, emotional, and behavioral supports strongly preferred
• Providing coaching and technical assistance to peer and non-peer audiences

Major Responsibilities and Duties:Salary - teacher scale plus $3200 stipend for 10 additional days
