Position Summary:

The Manager of Events and Engagement will create best-in-class events and engagement opportunities for donors, stakeholders, and community members alike.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement events designed to raise funds/create engagement and meet the organization's strategic goals, including, but not limited to fundraising events, community outreach events and donor appreciation events.
  • Responsible for revenue and expense management of each "event".
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, volunteer, and finance staff.
  • Utilize our fundraising database to input financial and constituent information.
  • Create and oversee event budgets including revenue and expense - maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Collaborate with Director of Corporate Partnership to ensure that corporate sponsors' and partners' mutual goals are met, and expectations exceeded.
  • Ensure that individual partners and guests are invited and acknowledged per stakeholder engagement guidelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from attendees and stakeholders.
  • Generate detailed reports with key performance indicators (KPIs), return on investment, and recommendations for future events.
  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges for events.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations, including permits, licenses, and security.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Perform complex administrative duties related to development, exercising confidentiality and professional judgment - examples include creating support materials for event volunteers, creating custom packets for donor meetings, and managing the tracking and acknowledgement process of both online and offline donations.
  • Research and implement new event opportunities to raise revenue and to increase awareness of our services.
  • Stay updated on current and emerging event technology trends and incorporate innovative solutions where applicable.

  • Self-starter
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Can comfortably collaborate with key constituents including team members, C-level staff, board members, volunteers, and partners.
  • Comfortable with using technology and CRM system.
  • Medium- to high-level of competency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel in particular

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of event planning experience required. Fundraising events and donor engagement experience preferred.
