Our Day Treatment (DT) program is seeking a passionate Day Treatment, Counselor. The Day Treatment Counselor offers support, assessment, intervention, and consultation within the Day Treatment Program with children and youth experiencing significant mental health issues. This position is responsible for individual and group services as well as possible assessment of new admits to program. This role provides mental health therapy support in groups as well as individual interventions for children and adolescents in the DT Program. 

Working under the direction of the Director of DT, this position is primarily responsible for:

• Primary service is group and individual, but includes assessments for clients entering the program and family therapy.
• Provide trauma informed services to clients and their families in Day Treatment, community, home, and virtually.
• Provide accurate, concise, and concurrent documentation according to program procedures and policies. Including, but not limited to Diagnostic Assessments, Treatment Plans, and Progress Notes.
• Ability to describe the philosophies, practices, policies, and outcomes of the most generally accepted and empirically supported models of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health disorders.
• Advocates on behalf of the client
• Provides client monitoring and behavioral interventions including the use of physical holds as needed and according to Crossroads’ policy, OHMHAS and JCAHO

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors acceptable with 3 years of experience. Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred.
• Must be licensed in Ohio as LPC/LSW; LPCC/LISW preferred.
• AMD- Aggressive Management De-escalation/Physical Hold Training within first 6 months of employment (employer provided)
• Experience working in de-escalating crises is highly desirable
• Certified in or willing to become certified in physical holds
• Work in the Day Treatment setting, community, and homes with occasional travel within Lake County
• Must be comfortable making home visits throughout the community.
• Demonstrated ability to develop trusting relationships with youth
• Possess valid Ohio Driver’s license (4 points of less) reliable transportation and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000
