Description

Position: Receiving Specialist-Entry level (Receiving/Restocking/Inventory)

Division: GMLx, Tier 2 Operations

Location: Norcross, GA (on-site)

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

This role will report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager and will have no direct reports. The receiving specialist performs clerical and manual/physical duties related to the preparation, inspection, receiving and shipment of various medical device products. The receiving specialist will coordinate and execute all pick, pack, ship and inventory activities to each customer's standards and requirements. This is a great entry level position for a recent graduate with a Supply Chain/Logistics program of study/degree.

Scope of Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that shipping and receiving requirements/schedules are met as specified by the customers’ or the company’s and customer's standards.
  • Receive and organize daily inbound shipments and deliveries.
  • Check-in and restock instruments and implant sets.
  • Daily start up and shut down of instrument disinfectant washer.
  • Functional testing and inspection of instruments.
  • Daily reporting via Microsoft Excel.
  • Inventory control & reconciliation.
  • Assist with new instrument and implant set builds.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized receiving area to meet OSHA and FDA regulations.
  • Daily secondary order verification.
  • Daily utilization of Walkie Stacker.
  • Dispose of damaged, defective, or obsolete products through proper regulatory and quality procedures.
  • Follow procedures for proper documentation per Quality Management System.
  • Perform or assist with other duties and projects as needed or assigned.

Requirements

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • 1 year in a Logistics, Distribution or Warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Customer focused/must work well with customers of all levels/backgrounds.
  • Highly developed communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Works with a sense of urgency, able & willing to go above & beyond.
  • Able to work varying hours/shifts as necessary to include rotating on-call shifts.

Physical Demands

  • Moderate to heavy physical activity. Daily repetitive lifting of at least 50 pounds.
  • Daily utilization of Walkie Stacker.
  • Standing, sitting, lifting & moving for extended amounts of time.
  • Must be able to access and navigate the warehouse facility.

Other Details:

This position requires a general availability from 8am - 8pm. During the training process, work schedule may be as early as 8am. The standard schedule may ultimately be 9am - 6pm, 10am - 7pm or 11am - 8pm with rotating on-call weekend shifts.
