JOB SUMMARY

This position will primarily service,calibrate, repair, and install Versatile canning systems at our customer’s facilities. Versatile is a manufacturer of advanced testing and measuring systems specifically in the aluminum canning industry.As their North America distributor Cross is responsible for supporting their products and we are looking for a mechanical minded individual. Experience with this equipment is not required, we are looking for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude, training and support will be provided. The position may also include calibration and repair services on other measurement-based equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintains constant and clear communication with customers and fellow associates
• Must perform repair, installations, and calibrations unsupervised
• Consistently maintain good work attendance and productive work ethic

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Must have a mechanical and electrical background
• Experience in industrial machine repair and diagnosis
• Good written and verbal communication skills mandatory
• Computer competent with standard software packages including MS Word, Excel
• Must be able to multitask, have a sense of urgency and great organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have a strong work ethic
• Performance driven and customer focused
• Overnight stay required as needed. Estimated at 50%
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving history

MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

• The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to speak, write, and utilize a PC effectively.
• The ability to drive up to 8 hours at a time
• The ability to travel via plane as needed
• The ability to navigate in an industrial environment
• Must be able to walk, talk, hear, sit, stand, use hands repetitively
• Must be able to work from the ground and work in tight spaces
• Must be able to stoop and bend below knee level 1 – 2 times an hour
• Lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls less than 50 pounds but greater than 25 pounds occasionally
