Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA – Long Term Care - LTC

A major hospital in Alaska is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for a team-oriented Long Term Care (LTC) unit. This is a position where a CNA can really make a difference in the lives of patients by providing a wide range of care for Long Term Care patients while maintaining a great work/life balance.
Responsibilities

• Provide quality basic care to the patients or residents according to the Standards of Care and the Residents Daily Care Plan
• Participate and assist with activities with the residents
• Collect specimens and assist with recording and reporting the results
• Clean and disinfect the work area, equipment, patient and resident rooms

Requirements

• Current state of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• New CNA graduates or CNAs that hold a current, unencumbered license from another state in the US must obtain the Alaska certification within 4 months of employment
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or it must be obtained within 4 months of hire
• Successful completion of Green House Philosophy of Care, Caring Reliably, Culinary Training, ServSafe, Dining Assistant, and Alaska food handlers’ card within 4 months of hire
• 6 months of healthcare experience as a Resident Assistant, Nurse Aide, Nursing Assistant, or private care giver is preferred
