Job Description
Providence is calling for Nursing Assistant Student in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Hours: Full Time (40 Hours Weekly) Temporary, Day Shift
Start Date: April 2024
The Nursing Assistant Trainee is involved in the educational process to learn basic skills in the care of the elders using practices established in this facility by a State approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
The Nursing Assistant Trainee at Providence Seward Mountain Haven assists with maintaining a clean environment within the Lodge, transporting elders, assisting with meal preparation and set-up, and providing meaningful activities. This position may serve as elder companion to promote safety in situations where more direct observation is needed. The purpose of this position is to augment dining, housekeeping, and non-essential nursing functions during peak work times. This position works directly with elders, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of Green HouseĀ® Philosophy of Care, Caring Reliably, Culinary training, ServSafe, Dining Assistance within four months of hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months Nursing aid, nursing assistant, or personal care attendant
